How To Root Samsung Galaxy Y (S5360)


Just like any other Android smartphone, we have to root the device to avail more features in the Smartphone. After rooting, we can install Custom ROMs, Mods, Tweaks, etc. In this article, I'll guide you on how to root Samsung Galaxy Y S5360. But, before that please read the disclaimer and prerequisites for your safety only.

  • Resolution:240 x 320 pixels, 3.0 inches
  • 2MP rear camera
  • QVGA video recording

Pre-requisites:
  • Samsung Galaxy Y Device (S5360).
  • The Samsung Galaxy Y Rooting Package from HERE

Procedure to root Samsung Galaxy Y:
  1. Download the Update.zip file from the above provided link.
  2. Copy the zip file to the root of your SD card.
  3. Turn OFF your phone.
  4. Now boot the phone into recovery.
  5. To enter recovery mode Hold Volume Up + Home Key + Power Button together.
  6. Once you are in recovery mode navigate using the volume up and down keys.
  7. To select press the Home Key.
  8. Now,with the help of volume keys select ”Update From SD Card” option.
  9. Now select the Update.zip file present in your SD card.
  10. Wait for the Rooting Process to finish.
  11. Your phone is now rooted!
